Donate toys and Stuff-A-Bus this Friday, all day, at Honda Center

Donate toys this Friday, December 18, 2009! The event's taking place at Honda Center, 2695 East Katella Ave, Anaheim, CA from 4:30am to 6:30pm. The toys go to Spark of Love, which gives gifts to needy children to brighen their holidays in Southern California. From OCTA's Facebook page:

Santa Claus is coming to town in a bus and is looking to Orange County to help fill it with toys. The Orange County Transportation Authority is teaming up with ABC7, Honda Center and the Anaheim Ducks to support the Spark of Love toy drive by stuffing a bus with toys.

The public is encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys and sporting equipment to the parking lot at Honda Center.

Toys collected will be distributed to children in the local community. Last year, two 60-foot, 22-ton OCTA articulated buses and nearly two additional 40-foot buses were filled with more than 10,000 toys, far surpassing the amount collected the prior year.

Garth Kemp of the ABC7 Morning News will be on-site to greet the public and broadcast live throughout the day.

For 18 years, ABC7 and firefighters from Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties have come together to support the Spark of Love toy drive for children in Southern California.

Take a look at this bus overflowing with presents. Isn't this crazy? Kudos to OCTA for supporting a worthy project:

Did you know that if you take toys to your local fire department they will donate them to children who lost everything to a fire? You can do this year round, not just at Christmas.

Good note

I didn't know that. I think people feel very generous around this time of year though so they try to take advantage of that opportunity. :)

There is such a wonderful

There is such a wonderful feeling knowing the toys you choose to donate are going to enjoy some needy children. I am convinced they will appreciate the gifts a lot more than a spoiled rich child, who is tired with all his toys because he has too many. Although i admire the ones who participated on this action, i think there should be similar charity events throughout the year too, and not just because of the Christmas spirit.
